Mixtum provides training, consulting and IT and video production services. We design and we develope websites and aplications. We offer media and video productions. We also offer training and consulting services. Our business is based on the idea that our customer's business will be able to benefit from our expertise. The better our customer's business, the better for us!

History of Mixtum

Mixtum's history goes back to the end of 2002 when Mr. Pasi Kainulainen, the CEO of the company, decided to start his own IT training and IT business company. Pasi Kainulainen is still the CEO and owner of Mixtum.

At the beginning of 2003 Mixtum started to do business more rapidly. It was the period when Mixtum's first website was published and first client work was done under the Mixtum name. During the first few years, most of the activities consisted of developing websites and other online services for clients. The very first customers and websites were very drink-oriented: Alko (the national alcoholic beverage retailing monopoly in Finland), Baileys, Freixenet, Isojano (bear festival in Finland), etc. This may have been due to the fact that the fancy Mixtum can has been showing in all Mixtum brand ads throughout the company's history.

Mixtum's education services were heavily involved in business from the very beginning. After all, there is mention edutainment in the official name of the company. During the first few years, the training services took place mainly at the customer's own premises, training centers and educational institutions. When the Mixtum office was moved to the center of Helsinki (Pietarinkatu, Ullanlinna), it was possible to arrange small-scale customized consultations on the company's own premises.

Since the start of the business, Mixtum has produced its own educational and training materials in the form of books (Macromedia Director MX in 2003, Adobe Photoshop CS3 in 2006, Adobe Photoshop CS5.5 in 2011), and in the form of customized educational materials for companies and educational institutions.

Business continued to evolve and almost without exception each year set a new record in terms of net sales at an early stage. In particular year 2008 was a statistically high year. During the period 2009-2010 Finland was in recession due to the global financial crisis which is also reflected to Mixtum's statistics.

At the beginning of 2012 Mixtum's office was moved to a larger spaces in Arabianranta, Helsinki. There was possible to held Mixtum's own trainings for a larger group of students. At the same time Mixtum's own educational Velhon käsikirja ("Wizard's handbook") brand was launched. The distribution of that material was mainly done electronically in PDF format. Similarly, Mixtum's trainings at Mixtum's office were called Velhon lähikurssit ("Wizard's Courses").

At the turn of 2017 and 2018 the 15th year of business was already reached. At the beginning of 2018 Mixtum moved again, this time to Espoo, Finland. In the center of all the hustle and bustle of moving and client projects Mixtum's own website was already very outdated. So, during 2018 Mixtum's new website was finally updated. At the same time Mixtum took WordPress as the main tool for all kinds of online client projects in mind.

2019 was a record year both in terms of net sales and earnings. In year 2020 Mixtum will launch a long-planned educational e-commerce store. This shop will mainly contain educational materials and videos.
